Connect WN2500RP Extender with Existing WiFi Network

First of all, you must place the Extender device at an equal distance between your WiFi router and the wireless device (PC or laptop).

• Plug your extender into the power outlet.
• Wait until the Power LED of the extender shows green light.

Method 1: Connecting Through Mywifiext.net

1. Power on your extender and then connect a PC to extender’s WiFi network via SSID.
2. Open Wi-Fi settings in PC and select the NETGEAR_EXT to connect with the extender’s WiFi network.

When Extender’s LED named “Wireless Device to Extender” shows a green light, means PC is connected to the extender.

3. Now, Open the web browser of the connected PC and search URL mywifiext.net or IP address 192.168.1.250.
4. A Setup Page will open, click the SETUP NEW EXTENDER.
5. If you have login credentials then use them to login to the extender. Usually, the default login username is: admin and password is: password.
6. Then create the netgear account first by providing your name, Email ID, New password, confirm password, 2 security questions and answer them.
7. Select SAVE button; it will take you to the next page of the setup wizard.
8. Here, select the WiFi network you would like to extend and connect with it by entering its password.
9. Click NEXT. Create Network page will appear, wherein you have to enter the name of the extended network and password.
10. Click SAVE. Extender will take some time to apply the settings, and then reboot itself.
11. After that, you can connect with the extended network with the help of the new SSID credentials that you have created during the setup.

Method 2: Connecting Through WPS

This way of connection lets user easily join a secure WiFi network without using any computer or internet device. Follow steps to connect your Netgear WN2500RP Extender with home router.

1. Press WPS button on the extender.

Extender’s WPS LED will start blinking green light, means the WPS connection is in progress.

2. Press WPS button on the WiFi router which you want extender to connect with.
