NETGEAR AC750 WiFi Range Extender and Signal Booster

NETGEAR AC750 WiFi Range Extender and Signal Booster

The AC750 WiFi range extender connects with your router and will provide extend of the signals up to 750 Mbps. It is so simple to connect it with the WiFi router (any). There are mainly three methods to complete the NETGEAR AC750 WiFi Range Extender setup.

You can do WPS connection method, manual netgear extender setup, and Ethernet cable setup. We will provide guide of all three, so let’s start.

Netgear AC750 Extender Setup

These major steps are correct and quick which are performed under the WiFi expert’s guidance, so you can use these without hesitation.

Apply Power to the Extender

Find an outlet nearby the router where the extender can connect with the WiFi router wirelessly. Then, just power on the extender & try out one of the Netgear extender setup methods given below.

Connection with Router (WPS Method)

  • First, go to your router and hit the WPS button. Most routers give you 2 mins or so to connect something after that.
  • Then run to your extender and press its WPS button. It’s usually on the side. Hold it for like 2 seconds. The WPS LED on the extender should start blinking.

If all goes well, after 30-60 seconds, that WPS light goes solid, and the router link LED lights up. That means it actually connected.

If the WPS light blinks forever and then just gives up — try again. Sometimes it takes 2-3 tries.

Connection with Router (Mywifiext/192.168.1.250)

  • On your phone/laptop, look for a network called something like: NETGEAR_EXT
No password needed (yet). Just connect to it. If it asks for a login screen or says “no internet,” you’re doing it right.
  • Open browser in your device and go to mywifiext.net or 192.168.1.250. That’s the extender’s local IP. Gets you to the same setup page.
  • If it’s your First time setup, you’ll land on the Netgear Genie setup thing. Create some admin creds (username, password). Then it’ll scan for nearby WiFi networks.
  • Pick your main WiFi, punch in the password, and let it do its thing. Sometimes it fails. If it does? Go back, re-enter the password. You probably fat-fingered it.
  • It’s going to ask you what to call the extended networks. Default is something like: YourNetworkName_2GEXT or YourNetworkName_5GEXT. You can leave them like that or rename them.
  • After setup finishes, the extender reboots. Now connect your phone/laptop to the new extended WiFi. Test your speeds.

Connection with Router (via Ethernet Cable)

  • Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the extender, the other end into your laptop or PC. This puts you in direct communication with the extender. We’re bypassing WiFi here.
  • Get Into the Setup Page after that. Open a browser. Type in: 192.168.1.250. Hit Enter. You should land on Netgear’s extender setup interface. If that doesn’t work, try: mywifiext.net
  • Once you’re in, it’ll ask if you want to set it up as a WiFi Range Extender or Access Point.
  • Now, here’s the fork in the road:
    1. If you’re using Ethernet just to set it up but still want to extend WiFi wirelessly, go with Range Extender.
    2. If you’re hardwiring this thing to your router and want it to blast a new WiFi signal from that wired connection, go Access Point.
  • For Ethernet setup to make any real difference, Access Point is usually what you want.
  • You can now unplug the cable from your laptop, and instead plug it into one of the LAN ports on your router. Now the extender is physically wired into your network.
  • The Ethernet light on the extender should turn on now. Means it is connected to your router.
  • It will detect the wired connection, then ask you to set up the new WiFi name and password. Set it. Save it. It’ll reboot. Give it a minute.
  • Grab your phone or laptop, connect to the extender’s new WiFi name, and make sure it’s working.
  • The Conclusion

Hope the Netgear AC750 WiFi Signal Booster setup guide helped you to install the device. also, you, should choose the mywifiext.net (manual) method to complete the configuration.
